Research that Benefits Children and Families- Uplifting Stories

When I read the outline and requirements for the Blog for this week, I knew that I am going to share Dr. Greenspan and Dr. Serena Weider DIR- Floortime model. This method is a research base study based on mutual interaction between the child with special needs and the adult, focusing on the child’s interest, “follow the child’s lead,” Interdisciplinary Council of Development and Learning, (ICDL), (n.d.). DIR stands for Developmental, Individual differences, and Relationship-based, ICDL (n.d.). EDUC-6163: Building Research Competency. My Personal Research Journey

I am privileged to work in early childhood education for almost two decades. As a professional educator that operated and managed inclusive early childhood programs, I am passionate about Inclusion, children with special needs, and equality. I learned from personal experience the essential contribution of inclusion for typically developing children and children with special needs. Besides, Inclusion allows children to feel like a unique individual at a young age and respect their peers based on their attributes and strengths. I intended to focus my simulation research on this topic, which will be Strategies to foster social-emotional skills in an inclusive classroom.  As I started the research process, I looked for articles that will relate and reflect my study’s topic.
